TOLEDO
TORMENTA
|
|
strength
|
STARTING
LINEUP. There is a strong reason Tormenta is the
defending Champions and they've reached the Prestige
Championship three of the last four seasons and that
is they possess arguably the leagues most dominant starting
lineup. Lead by qb Aaron Rodgers, they also have Adrian
Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Wes Welker, Jordy Nelson,
Randall Cobb and Vernon Davis (plus last year's 1st
Rd pick Justin Blackmon and Dwayne Bowe). |
weakness
|
TE.
Vernon Davis and Kyle Rudolph are talented players,
but Tormenta did finish last in TE scoring in 2012.
Davis is averaging just 7 points per game in 24 starts
the last two seasons. |
summary
|
This
really is a team with little weakness, as they've greatly
improved the depth they were lacking the previous two
years. Pending any injury to it's key players, Tormenta
should be in strong position to repeat as league champions.

LOS
ANGELES LAKE SHOW
|
|
strength
|
RB.
Doug Martin proved to be one of the league's very best
in his rookie season. This year will be a big test for
him to prove he can remain among the elite RB's. Lake
Show has some questions with depth as Rashard Mendenhall
is coming off injury. Stevan Ridley could be the wild
card and if he can provide the steady production he
showed last year, Lake Show should be in great shape. |
Weakness
|
FLEX.
With Doug Martin at RB and Demaryius Thomas / Mike Wallace
at WR this team struggled to find a consistent Flex
option (it was the only position they finished outside
the top 4 in total team scoring). The potential season
ending injury to Michael Crabtree raises more concerns.
They did trade for Ridley and Mendenhall may be due
for a bounce-back year. |
Summary
|
As proven last year Lake Show is capable of being the
most explosive team in the league. They were the league's
highest scoring team and they've made some offseason
adjustments to fix weak areas. The injury to Crabtree
hurts but if they find a solid Flex option this team
could be headed towards it's first Prestige title. |

TUCSON
A II P
|
|
strength
|
WR.
This position continues to be a strength for this
team and the 2011 draft class of Julio Jones and AJ
Green should keep it so for awhile. In addition they
have talented veterans Larry Fitzgerald, Hakeem Nicks
and Greg Jennings as well as developmental prospects
(Chris Givens, Danrius Moore, and Marvin Jones).
|
weakness
|
RB.
Arian Foster remains one of the leagues elite RB's and
this team has done some things through the draft to
build depth behind him. However at the moment they have
no reliable option outside Foster. |
summary
|
A
II P was dominant for nearly three straight years before
showing some vulnerability late last year. A big reason
for that was the injury to Rob Gronkowski. When healthy,
his presence makes this team a Prestige favorite. However
offseason injury concerns to Gronkowski and Foster raise
some serious question marks. |

MACUNGIE
O'S
|
|
strength
|
WR.
The O's have great strength at RB but they actually
finished 1st in the league WR last season. Brandon Marshall,
Reggie Wayne, and Eric Decker could be the league's
best starting trio. Jeremy Maclin is an excellent fourth
option and Andrew Hawkins is a talented prospect. |
Weakness
|
TE.
Brandon Pettigrew is a steady TE but has seriously lacked
explosiveness. Jared Cook and Jacob Tamme have not been
consistent enough for the O's so Pettigrew has not missed
a start the last two years (in which he is averaging
8 ppg in 26 starts). Pettigrew did not score over 13
pts last year and he's only scored over 15 pts twice
in his career. |
summary
|
Don't let the 5-9 record fool you, because the O's were
a very good team in 2012 (the 5-9 season of 2011 was
a different story as they were a bad team). The O's
ranked 2nd in the entire league in scoring and among
the top 5 in QB, RB, WR, and FLEX. I think a lot of
their season had to do with bad luck and unfortunate
situations. They have the talent to matchup with any
team in the league. |

OUTER
BANKS LIGHTNING
|
|
strength
|
QB.
After spending four seasons as the teams backup, Matt
Ryan became Lightning's primary QB option and he finished
among the league leaders in scoring (4th). Philip Rivers
is now the teams backup and the third option is Christian
Ponder. All three QB's were 1st Rd picks by Lightning. |
Weakness
|
RB.
This is not a major weak area for the team if Maurice
Jones-Drew can overcome some injury concerns, especially
because they have a reliable option in Darren Sproles. |
summary
|
Lightning
is a team with not dominant strength or weakness. They
are steady and consistent but perhaps not explosive
(they ranked 7th in overall team scoring last year).
They will again rely heavily on the combination of Ryan
and Tony Gonzalez, a duo that was good enough to carry
the team to the Prestige finals last year. |

MYRTLE
BEACH 328'S
|
|
strength
|
QB.
Every year it seems as though 328's trade away a young
talented QB they drafted (Matthew Stafford, Joe Flacco,
Cam Newton, Andy Dalton) yet this position continues
to be their strength every year because of Drew Brees.
The depth behind Brees is not as strong as past seasons,
but he is undoubtedly the team strength. |
Weakness
|
DEPTH.
328's have a pretty solid starting lineup, but they
have concerns and questions if those starters get hurt.
They have some intriguing young talent that could emerge
but at the moment there is concern for consistent among
their backup players. |
Summary
|
Brees
will continue to make this team a playoff contender
and the WR combination of Roddy White and Vincent Jackson
make them a very explosive threat every week. To be
a true Prestige Championship contender they will need
some other players to step up. |

DC
H
|
|
strength
|
WR.
H may not appear not as dominant as previous years at
WR, but it remains the heart of this team and among
the league's best groups. Of course Calvin Johnson is
the catapult but Percy Harvin is an elite player and
Steve Smith and Anonio Brown are reliable starters.
Cecil Shorts is an underrated talent and Michael Floyd
could be poised for a big sophomore season. |
Weakness
|
RB.
Based on the offseason, H appears poised to improve
at this position - they ranked 9th in RB scoring (the
worst ranking the team has had in franchise history).
Steven Jackson, Reggie Bush, and Lamar Miller are all
in position for improved seasons and the team added
a potentially electrifying option with CJ Spiller. |
summary
|
This team enters the 2013 season on a six-game winning
streak. They have not lost since the trade for Eli Manning
(not that Manning was the sole reason for their winning
streak). H really is a well rounded team with perhaps
the best depth in the entire league. If the RB's emerge
and the QB's play like they did in the second half of
2012, H will be a playoff and championship contender. |

FLIPPIN
UNITED
|
|
strength
|
RB.
United has remained explosive at the RB for a long time,
even with the Tomlinson retirement last year as well
as Michael Turner becoming a free agent and Deangelo
Williams fading. They have a new crop of starters with
Lesean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, Alfred Morris, and Darren
McFadden - all capable of being every week starters. |
Weakness
|
WR.
This position has greatly improved for United. Danny
Amendola has potential to be an every week starter to
go alongside Victor Cruz and they have a lot of potential
with some young WR's they've drafted the last two years. |
Summary
|
The health of Robert Griffin III will be a big question
for this team. United proved when he is playing they
can match up with any team, especially if they start
finding a consistent starting lineup, most notable at
the WR position. |

LAS
VEGAS 69ERS
|
|
strength
|
QB.
What a difference a year makes. Last year this team
had serious concerns at QB with Jay Cutler and Ryan
Fitzpatrick as the starters. With the drafting of Andrew
Luck and trading for Andy Dalton and Matt Schaub, suddenly
the position has become the teams strength. |
weakness
|
RB.
Ray Rice is one of the very best RB's in the league,
though the 69ers have little options at depth. Vick
Ballard and Bryce Brown are interesting young prospects
but probably not players they would want to rely on
a weekly basis at this point of their career. |
Summary
|
Dez
Bryant's emergence as elite WR last year could be the
key to how good this team can be in addition to finding
a strong option at the Flex position (something they
did successfully last year). They will also need future
Hall of Fame TE Antonio Gates to bounce back now that
they've lost the explosive scoring of Aaron Hernandez. |

DENVER
TOMCATS |
|
strength
|
QB.
Ben Roethlisberger and now Colin Kaepernick are the
teams most reliable (and potentially explosive) players.
The only issue they'll face may be deciding which QB
is the better option each week. |
Weakness
|
RB.
This position is a serious concern. Mikel Leshoure had
a decent season but he's expected to become a backup
this year leaving the Tomcats without a legitimate starting
NFL RB. Perhaps someone like last year's 2nd Rd pick
Isiah Pead will emerge? They'll need something fast
because at this point it does not look. |
summary
|
Though
it didn't show record wise the Tomcats made great improvements
last year. If Torrey Smith and Desean Jackson can become
more consistent and take the next step they should improve
even more, especially if they can find a good option
at RB. |
