15 MOST PRODUCTIVE 1ST RD PICKS SINCE 2003

GO HERE TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS OR CHOICES ON THE MESSAGE BOARD

1.   LARRY FITZGERALD (wr)
A II P #1 in 2004

40 starts - 487 points - 12.2 ppg

2004's draft may be the most productive 1st Round in league history. Fitzgerald has started in at least 9 games in each of his four seasons, scoring over 100 points in all but his rookie year. A II P has made the playoffs all four years, including two Prestige Championship- the second of which Fitzgerald won the Prestige Championship MVP.

2.   STEVEN JACKSON (rb)
H #2 in 2004

37 starts - 473 points - 12.8 ppg

Jackson's production speaks for itself. Over the past 3 seasons, only two rb's have scored more pts then Jackson (Ladainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook). Despite an injury which limited him during last season, Jackson surpassed the 100 point mark for the 3rd straight year.

3.   LARRY JOHNSON (rb)
Both Holes #1 in 2003

33 starts - 467 points - 14.2 ppg

Johnson didn't really get going until his third season when he scored 134 points in just 8 starts, leading Lake Show to the Prestige finals. He scored 193 pts the following year and his production lead to a blockbuster deal which gave Lake Show Randy Moss and ultimately another chance at a championship. Johnson's 14.2 career ppg ranks 3rd all-time for rb's who've played more then 1 season.

4.   WILLIS MCGAHEE (rb)
69ers #3 in 2003

34 starts - 356 points - 10.5 ppg

McGahee has not been as explosive as some other first round rb's, only surpassing the 100 point mark once in 5 seasons. However, he has remained consistent when relied on, and as such McGahee has been critical for the 69ers. Since drafting McGahee, the 69ers have not missed the playoffs and have won two Prestige titles.

5.   ADRIAN PETERSON (rb)
Tormenta #3 in 2007

10 starts - 155 points - 15.5 ppg

In terms of instant production, Peterson would top the list. In fact Peterson may have had the most productive rookie season in league history. His 155 points is matched only by the rookie seasons of Randy Moss in 1998 and Edgerrin James in 1999.

6.   REGGIE BUSH (rb)
328's #1 in 2006

23 starts - 295 points - 12.8 ppg

328's have yet to make the postseason since new ownership in 2006, but that has not been because of poor 1st Round drafting. Bush has proven worthy of a first overall selection as he has scored just under 150 points in each of his two seasons. 328's has greatly improved and Bush remains one of the franchises cornerstone players moving forward.

7.   JOSEPH ADDAI (rb)
Lake Show #5 in 2006

21 starts - 264 points - 12.6 ppg

After a decent rookie season in which he scored 84 points, Addai proved his 1st Rd value in 2007. In 12 starts, Addai scored 180 points (3rd best in the league). Addai's production lead to a record-breaking scoring season by Lake Show, who eventually lost in the Prestige Championship. It will be interesting to watch what Addai does in his 3rd year.

8.   ANDRE JOHNSON (wr)
KC Whoa #5 in 2003

42 starts - 446 points - 10.6 ppg

Injuries and inconsistencies have prevented Andre Johnson from the elite status he has shown in flashes. Last year Johnson seemed poised to breakout into the Top 5 scoring leaders, but injuries kept him out of 8 starts. He still managed 108 points in 6 starts for the Prestige Champion 69ers, who acquired Johnson in a trade with the franchise that drafted him.

9.   KELLEN WINSLOW (te)
A II P #3 in 2004

26 starts - 272 points - 10.5 ppg

Winslow's first two seasons were clouded with injuries that kept him completely out of action. However he has quickly recovered and produced two impressive seasons that put him among the top te's in the league. In 2007, Winslow scored 151 points (3rd best in the league) in 12 starts.

10.   ROY WILLIAMS (wr)
United #6 in 2004

33 starts - 313 points - 9.5 ppg

Roy Williams has had some inconsistencies on a weekly basis, but when he is going well, Williams has the potential to be among the leagues very best wr's. His most productive season came in 2006 when he scored 130 pts and also won the Prestige Championship MVP with a 22 pt performance in the finals. Last year he was up and down, but still scored 123 pts.

11.   BRAYLON EDWARDS (wr)
H #5 in 2005

15 starts - 185 points - 12.3 ppg

Edwards didn't really get an opportunity to shine until last season, when he emerged as one of the league's best wr's. During a developmental first two years Edwards was used sparingly. By Week 4 of last season Edwards became the every week starter for H, and he finished the year tied for 5th in scoring with 148 points.

12.   RONNIE BROWN (rb)
H #2 in 2005

20 starts - 224 points - 11.2 ppg

Like Braylon Edwards, Ronnie Brown really started to breakout last year. Brown lead the league in scoring during the first half of 2007, but an injury in Week 7 kept him out the remainder of the year. In just 7 starts, Brown finished the season with 114 points (9th best in the league). Entering next season Brown should provide a deep H team with a solid flex rb option.

13.   ELI MANNING (qb)
Lightning #5 in 2004

24 starts - 658 points - 27.4 ppg

Eli Manning has yet to produce a great season, but in his 4 years Manning has been in reliable starter for Lightning (who've they've split time with alongside #7 pick Philip Rivers). Manning's starts and points have dropped slightly in each of the past 3 years, but he remains the leagues highest career scoring qb drafted in the past 5 years.

14.   KEVIN JONES (rb)
A II P #4 in 2004

30 starts - 274 points - 9.1 ppg

After two very poor seasons in which he scored 42 pts in 11 starts, Kevin Jones bounced back in 2006, scoring 164 points (5th best in the league). Last year injuries kept him out of the year until Week 8. He did manage to be productive in the second half scoring 68 pts in 7 starts. His future however remains a question mark as he remains unsigned by an NFL team.

15.   CARSON PALMER (qb)
United #9 in 2003

11 starts - 305 points - 27.7 ppg

At this point, Palmer has been used only sparingly in rotation for United. Last season Palmer was a disappointment, scoring only 108 pts in 5 starts for a United team that finished 2-12. Palmer's best season came in 2005 when he scored 157 pts in just 4 starts. His 39.3 ppg was best in the league and Palmer was the winner of the Ninth Man of the Year Award, given to the most productive non-starter.
