LOS
ANGELES LAKE SHOW
|
|
|
drafted
|
Michael
Crabtree (wr); Knowshon Moreno (rb); Mark Sanchez
(qb); Brandon Pettigrew (te); Glen Coffee (rb); James
Davis (rb); Rob Bironas (k) |
|
summary
|
You
can make a case that Lake Show acquired the top rookies
at each position (qb/rb/wr/te). This was a crucial
draft for the team and it is pretty safe to say they
made all the right picks to set themselves up strong
with future superstars. |

LAS
VEGAS 69ERS
|
|
|
drafted
|
Pierre
Thomas (rb); Martellus Bennett (te) |
|
summary
|
The
69ers did not have a pick until #30 overall but they
really made the most of their draft picks. Pierre
Thomas is a steal at #30 overall. He could emerge
as the teams starting RB this season. Bennett is a
very nice young backup to Antonio Gates. They did
not get any of the top rookies, but the 69ers had
a really smart and productive draft. |

drafted

Percy
Harvin (wr); Martin Rucker (te); Garrett Hartley (k) |
|
summary
|
H
will not have 1st or 2nd Rd picks in 2010 but I'm
sure with the additions of #5 pick Percy Harvin and
qb Joe Flacco added to an already impressive roster,
has to have them happy entering the season. Rucker
was a salary acquistion but he could devolp into a
nice player and Hartley could challenge Nick Folk
as the starter. |

MYRTLE
BEACH 328'S
|

|
drafted
|
Matthew
Stafford (qb); Kenny Britt (wr); Shonn Greene (rb);
Ramses Barden (wr) |
|
summary
|
328's
traded up so they could get Stafford who gives them
a replacement for Joe Flacco. They got a good value
pick out of Shonn Greene who slipped to them at #18
and made a very profitable deal trading a 3rd Rd pick
for Tormenta's 1st Rd pick in 2010. |

TOMCATS
|

|
drafted
|
Hakeem
Nicks (wr); Andre Brown (rb); Shawn Nelson (te) |
|
summary
|
With
their first 1st Rd pick since 2005 (when they took
wr Troy Williamson) the Tomcats selected Hakeem Nicks
at #9. As the fourth WR taken, Nicks could prove to
be a great value pick at that spot and could even
make an impact for the team right away. |

UNITED
|
|
|
drafted
|
LeSean
McCoy (rb); Donald Brown (rb); Pat White (qb); Cornelius
Ingram (te);
Shaun Suisham (k) |
|
summary
|
United
surprised many taking McCoy at #3 mostly because United
is already stacked at the RB position. Then in the
2nd Rd they could not pass on rb Donald Brown who
may be the steal of the draft at #14 overall. They
could use some youth at WR but perhaps they didn't
think any were worthy at #3 and their next three picks
were quality value selections. |

MACUNGIE
O'S
|
|
|
drafted
|
Jeremy
Maclin (wr); Mike Wallace (wr); Jared Cook (te); Justin
Harper (wr) |
|
summary
|
Needing
some youth at the WR position, the O's took Maclin
and Wallace with thier first two picks and then Harper
with thier 4th. They are all project type WR's with
very high risk and upside. They do make a nice fit
for the O's who already have an established set of
starters. |

TUCSON
A II P
|
|
|
drafted
|
Derrius
Heyward-Bey (wr) |
|
summary
|
Heyward-Bey
was probably a value pick for A II P at #13 overall.
He is a high risk potential high reward player so
it may be worth the gamble for this team which does
not need an immediate impact at WR. They will have
an extra 1st and 2nd Rd picks in 2010 for trading
this years 1st Rd pick. |

TOLEDO
TORMENTA
|
|
|
drafted
|
Fred
Jackson (rb) |
|
summary
|
Tormenta
is really building a nice team but this draft might
be a step back for their future. Giving up a 1st and
2nd Rd pick for Eli Manning makes some sense, but
then they traded a First Round pick in 2010 for a
Third rounder where they selected Fred Jackson at
#23. |

drafted
|
Chris
Wells (rb); Josh Freeman (qb); Brian Robiskie (wr);
Chase Coffman (te); Juaquin Iglesias (wr); Deon
Butler (wr); Mohamed Massaquoi (wr) |
|
summary
|
I
love Lightning's draft picks (maybe more then any
other team), but they get a poor grade for being unprepared
or aware of their salary situation, finishing the
draft 4.4 over the salary cap limit. This is an impressive
team with a strong mix of current superstars and talented
youth but they must do a better job of preparation
when drafting. Lightning's last 3 picks will be removed
and they will be able to acquire three free agent
replacements after the Week 1 Free Agency selection
day. |
